UKM Green
Lung, formerly known as Tobacco Control Team recently
organised “A Date with Green Lung event”. The
aim of the event is to expose the new member of Green Lung about the
importance of smoking cessation and also to train the members of Green Lung in
giving the right information to the public about the tobacco control and smokes
free environment.
The event received large
turnouts from students not only from Faculty of Pharmacy but also from
other faculties in KTSN as well. The event kicked off by featuring an
enlightening talk on tobacco control by the UKM Green Lung
President, Ms Low Hui Sin and multimedia show. Afterwards, the
atmosphere was filled with fun and excitement when interactive ice breaking
session and station games were carried out. The participants were then given the
chance to show their creativity and teamwork with other group members by
presenting a sketch drama which conveyed the message of the importance of
smoking cessation towards our health.
The event came to an end with the prizes
awarding ceremony to all the participating groups. The president of the
programme, Ms Thum Jing Wen hopes that the participants will gain insightful
information about the organisation and raise their awareness on the importance and benefits of a smoke-free environment
to our health and daily life through this programme.
